About Us
The Garden is a locally owned business operating three stores around
Canberra. We offer the combined ranges of the three stores, and can often
be seen traversing Canberra’s roads in our white vans, ferrying special
items to and fro between our stores.
The Garden’s staff obviously enjoy being around plants and
we especially enjoy helping our customers design and maintain their own gardens.
All garden styles and philosophies are provided for, and the managers pore
over suppliers’ lists well into the night to ensure that a broad and
healthy range of plants are stocked throughout the year. Whether you have
a formal, native, low-maintenance, low-water, organic, cottage-style, practical,
herbal, vegetable, fruit, or any other kind of garden, The Garden is
the place to bring your garden aspirations to fruition.
The Garden’s owners have lived in Canberra for many years,
and have expanded their business as Canberra has grown. Each of the three
stores has contributed to its local area, supporting schools, community organizations
and charities. The stores have also changed as the gardens in the area have
changed, and this is true also of the increased concern about water. The
challenge of making gardens more water efficient has engaged the best minds in
the industry. At The Garden we are passionate about sustainable gardens
of all styles, and offer the combined expertise of both our staff and suppliers
to ensure that your garden flourishes regardless of the conditions we face.

Services
We understand that gardening can be a messy operation, and so we
are more than happy to help you get your purchases to your car or load them
for you. We also offer a free delivery service (conditions apply) during the week, which can
be organised any of our friendly staff members.
Despite our best efforts to have the best range of plants available all
year round, we are more than happy to try and find any plant you are looking
for. Due to climate and seasonal considerations we are not always able to
source requests, but we will do our very best!

Opening hours
We are open 7 days a week for most of the year. Our opening hours vary depending
on the season.
During Spring, Summer and Autumn, we're open from 8.30 - 5.30 in the week
and 9.00 - 5.30 on the weekend.
During Winter it's 9.00 - 5.00 in the week (except Dickson 8.30 - 5.00) and
9.00 - 5.00 on the weekend at all stores.
On public holidays: 9am – 5pm.
Closed Good Friday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day

Staff
The Garden’s staff come from many different backgrounds but
all share an interest and passion in plants and gardening. Some are tertiary-trained
in horticulture, whilst many others have the priceless practical experience
of decades of gardening and landscaping. We take on any question, problem,
enigma or identification task, and the combined knowledge of all our staff
and suppliers means that we can always help you.
