The Sprout programme

Start small. Learn fast. Grow something great.

Breaking into the industry is difficult when every opportunity asks for experience before giving you the chance to gain it. Our Sprout internship pathway is designed for students, recent graduates and emerging talent who want to learn how work happens inside a modern marketing and technology business.

Become a Sprout

How it works

Real teams. Real briefs. Real ways of working.

Gardeners working side by side at a shared desk

Sprouts get exposure to real teams, real briefs and real ways of working. You’ll learn by observing, contributing, asking questions and receiving practical feedback from people working in the industry every day.

The programme runs in person at our Melbourne office, so you’ll need to be Melbourne-based and able to get there.

Sprout questions, answered.

Where does the Sprout programme take place?

In person at The Garden’s Melbourne office. The programme isn’t remote, so being Melbourne-based and able to travel to the office is essential.

Do I need experience or a polished CV to apply?

No. You don’t need an enormous CV. We’re more interested in your curiosity, your interests and what you’re hoping to learn. A CV and work samples are optional parts of the form, not requirements.

Does registering my interest guarantee a placement?

No. Sprout opportunities are offered at selected times of the year and depend on team capacity, available projects and the kind of experience you’re seeking. Registering helps us identify potential Sprouts when suitable opportunities open up.

Can the internship count towards my course?

Possibly. The registration form asks whether your placement is connected to your course, whether you have placement-hour requirements and who to contact at your education provider, so we can work with their requirements where we can.

What happens after I register?

We review your information when planning future Sprout intakes. If your interests line up with a suitable project and our teams have the capacity to give you a genuinely useful learning experience, we’ll be in touch.
